    arrested? what the hell for?

FYI, I just received this message from Indy Defenders of Freedom this evening:

Today, 7 people are sitting in St. Joe County jail for trespassing on Notre Dame campus for the second time. The South Bend City Council changed a city ordinance this week which denies bail for repeat trespassers at a jail and charges them with a felony. Who will come to our aid? Who will stand up for the innocent? Two Catholic churches were arrested today on Notre Dame campus. I was there and video will be up soon from our live webcast. www.stopobamanotredame.com

What spacifically is being protested? The president, can't protest that, our country wanted him fair and square, so what is the protest, taxex, guns, war, abortion, ext, might want to narrow it down. I can't be their to protest. I have to work.

This is a continuation of the April 15th Tax Day Tea Party...

I'm protesting all of Obama's oppressions. I don't want to be a subject, as I am a citizen and will not stand to be labeled as a potential terrorist.:patriot:

I think the Tea Party thing is a bit silly, seeing as we are being 'fairly represented' even if we disagree. We aren't doing our part as Hoosiers to vote out the folks we hate. I mean, not saying that people here aren't voting, and the Politics area is probably one of the hottest areas on the forums, in the case of blood temperatures rising. But somehow the same folks end up controlling us, no idea how.

"We the People..." might work, although you could argue that "We the People..." decided. I would stick more to the Bill of Rights. I know that labels me as a Right Wing Fundamentalist, but that's fine with me. I kind of am. I believe in the fundamentals of the right wing, which is why I'm a Libertarian.

That's my two cents on the matter.

I wish they'd get away from the whole "Tea Party" thing and focus more on "We the People"....

You don't understand. That IS what the Tea Party is about. It's not about you or me or that group or this group. It's about ALL of us. I think maybe you should go to the Meetup board Indy Defenders of Liberty and sign up and ask questions. My God man, get involved. You can't change anything if you don't get involved. Just voting is not enough.

If you think we are being fairly represented you aren't paying attention. 75% of the Country opposed the bailouts and they passed it anyway. Tell me that's fair. If you think the Tea Party "Thing" is silly, what would you suggest.

Your whole post shows you haven't looked closely at us and what we stand for. Focus on just the BoR? That's just asinine. The Constitution is made up of more than just the BoR. They in Washington have violated more than just the BoR. They have violated the restrictions laid forth in the Constitution that comes before the BoR.

We are for states' rights. We are against the spending and the bailouts. We are promoting the voting out of the career politicians. We are against gun control. And so so much more.

I think you all really need to look a little deeper than the cover of the book. You all complain about things and say how we should do something. Well, I'm doing something. I'm doing more than wastefully writing my reps and showing up at the polls. I'm getting involved. I'm showing my support. I'm helping to organize. What are you doing?

While I agree that we are not being fairly represented, our representatives are 'representing' us. Especially since we, the people, voted them in. Do you, or I, agree with how they do it? No. While I said the thing is silly, I did not mean the idea of protesting and letting your voice be heard, I meant focusing on the Tea Party aspect--which was my agreeing with Hickman. I get the Tea Party, and the symbolism, especially as it was perhaps one of the earliest, and most profound protests in American history... but since we're not focused specifically on taxation and tariff, it may be misconstrued by those who are ignorant. Hence my comment on the Bill of Rights.

While I did say I would stick to the Bill of rights, I did not specifically state that I would focus just on the BoRs. However, as you have stated, and I will address momentarily, they are violating State's rights, which was the primary concern of the BoR, as well as the rights of the people.
Do I think that the rest of the Constitution should be overlooked? Certainly not, and I certainly feel that it was a document written with an express understanding of how a government should be run, that a government is there for the people, by the people. The government is for the people, not the other way about. This country is definitely in need of an overhaul, and I believe that it should happen based on the Constitution and the BoR. However, I believe that the BoR is the more important of the two, since the states would not even ratify the Constitution without it.

We are for states' rights. We are against the spending and the bailouts. We are promoting the voting out of the career politicians. We are against gun control. And so so much more.

As am I, and as was the BoR. I agree whole-heartedly with you that these lifetimer politicians need a kick in their arse, and that Congress needs new blood. I don't think that I disagree with the primary philosophy of any organization you stand for and help organize. The BoR is the basis on which two of the issues you just mentioned are founded. The other two are Constitutional, and the spending and bailouts arguably falls under both--again making the BoRs the most important piece of history we're looking at.

Again, I laud the fact that you're doing so much, and involved in so many different protests. While I do not do as much as you, I would if I could. As is, I have barely enough to make it from week to week, so I end up staying in Bloomington, working to provide for myself while I write my representatives, and discussing different legislations on the board, and discussing political philosophy with friends and others willing to hear both sides of the story.

Annnd... I'd have more, but my girlfriend is impatient. I may write more when I get back. Gotta eats.

Well, I'm not much into breaking all that down, but I do respect your opinions and I'm glad we are on the same level. I did not mean to sound shrewed by any means. I'm just pissed. Pissed at the current situation, but also that that COWARD didn't have the balls to face us today. He chose to enter in the back alley than to conront and face, and address us. Any other President would have at least faced us. The least he could do was to drive past and acknoledge us.

    ANYWAY

The Tea Party protest was about taxes and spending and states' right's. So on that note, it did resemble the original Tea Party. No representation, wrongly taxed, etc. We are NOT being represented. To say that you will do this this and this and get voted in and renig on EVERYTHING you campaigned on is NOT representing those who voted for you. In NO way are we the people being represented.

As far as being involved, If I have to drive down there myself to get you, I'll do that. You just owe me one later. I'm struggling too. But I'm also selling things, mowing lawns, whatever I have to do to get the money to participate. I haven't been able to contribute finacially but I am in other ways. I've signed up to help on the technilogical side of things. I'm volunteering to show up to every local rally I can and help with whatever I can.

Today we had a plan to meet at White River SP at 2:30. I got there at 2 only to find an Indians Game and some Walk for some disease and parking was now packed and $5. I stood on the corner of the parking lot with my Gadsden Flag stopping people and telling them just to meet at the State House. I gained us about 10 car loads of people who would have otherwise been lost. One from Marion as well.

There are MANY ways to help out. You don't have to show up, but help get the word out in your area. Too many people DIDN'T know about our rally today and too many more don't know about the atrocity's committed by Notre Dame this weekend.

If you want to get involved, sign up and lend your voice. We'll let you know how you can help.

His route was choosen weeks before you knew he would be here! They put you on the main road with his supporters, just make you happy. Trust me I saw that route mapped out, he wasn't ever going to drive past you. Its just part of the game...sucks.:patriot:

Actually they had him rolling up the front of the building, not the back alley. But when we started showing up, the moved the barriers back and eased up security on the front. That's when I suspected they would go in the back.

That still doesn't negate the fact that we have a freaking COWARD as a President. If you want to call him that.:n00b:

Once they moved the teleprompter to the rear entrance, there was no way he could have faced the crowd.
I love it when the prompter stops and he stands there like a deer in the headlights....mouth open, eyes starring straight ahead, ears sticking out like Mickey Mouse.

    He's not a coward, he's shy.
