Been shooting most of my life, had to get glasses the last 10 years or so (I'll be 72 in May). I have progressive lenses. They do a good job for me in almost all cases, handguns and rifles. However I have put scopes on most of my rifles in the last few years, even with glasses my eyesight isn't what it used to be. The glasses don't give me any problems with my handguns, might be just a little slower to acquire small targets at 50 ft or more as I have to nod my head to get everything lined up in focus. Not worried about self defense - at any distance self defense would be justified, I could hit a man sized target with or without glasses with any firearm I own!

I've posted it before, my line less, progressive bifocals have made a stunning difference in my handgun shooting because I can focus better on the front sight.
