Have any of you guys ate a school lunch recently? My wife is a lunch lady at the local elementary school. Breadsticks and cheese sauce constitutes as a main dish. I would be extremely surprised if less than 50% of the food served doesn't end up in the garbage on an average day. I used to go in and eat lunch with my daughter every now and then. There were many kids who wouldn't take a single bite of anything on their tray. I guess no caloric intake is better than a sandwich brought from home.

My son's school gives 3 choices for lunch: regular tray lunch, chicken sandwich (with same sides as the regular lunch), or salad. I substitute teach sometimes, and the food is actually pretty good, though the salad bar at the high school is better.

On another note, why did they not feel the lunch had all the requirements? Do they not know their food groups? :dunno:

    Pray for your country, people!

Why? GOD gave up on us a long time ago and the DEVIL does not want us either. :(

    This country needs an exorcism.

    ^This!

It's more conditioning of the youth by the state.

If the blind sheep continue to sleep, by the time this kindergarten class reaches adulthood they will not question the government that knows what is best for them.

    BINGO!

It's already a lost cause. Look at the adults in this nation. They continue to blindly go along with TSA every day. So if those parents go blindly into the hands of TSA can you expect anything better for those kids.

    Nope!

The cheese sandwich probably had more nutritional value than those disgusting lumps of processed "meat."

It's not about the nutritional value of the home brought lunch and you know it rambone. It's all about control and getting the little ones use to .gov control.

Ya want to see this stop? Simple vote for Obama for a 2nd term. He will surely speed up the process to the crash of reality this nation is fast approaching. The Rs (minus RP) will also do the same but at a slower pace. But alas nothing will change. The world is going to hell in a hand basket and no one seems to care. :faint:

Wonder if the martians will invade us soon? :n00b:

The school knows best. The FDA issued their policy. The courts uphold this position.

Now, did you have a question, citizen? Before we continue, we are only looking out for little Billy. You want the best for him, right Mr. Smith? It would be a shame if little Billy somehow became ostracized because of this *finger quotes* event. No one wants their child to be left out of the group, right Mr. Smith? Good then. I am glad this is settled.

I am beyond sick of the gov people trying to tell everybody how they should raise their kids. I have had issues a couple times and will not back down. The few times that my older step daughter has came home telling me of untruths they have taught her in school I sit down with her and let her know they are wrong and why they are wrong. Showing her proof if needed. I also have no problem with her going back to school armed with the facts and politely letting her teacher know it.

You people disgust me, second-guessing our government when you know full well that they know how to raise our children better than us and they only want to ensure that they are properly fed. Shame on you all!

Wake up folks..... the wolves are at the gate.... and they are here for your children.

I teach my kids what I want them to know, the truth. They know what they are taught at school but they also know that the political liberal propaganda taught at school is not the always the truth and that they are to question anything that they don't agree with or doesn't sound right. And also that just because someone holds a position of authority doesn't mean that they can be trusted and believed. I have been impressed by my oldest son as of late he has started to come home and ask me about things they are being taught in school and why it's different then what they have been taught by us. I'm very proud of him.

Are any of you really surprised that when you STEAL money from people that the people getting the stolen money do something vile and disgusting?

Public education is wrong on every level.

    It is funded by THEFT.

It is a REQUIREMENT for socialism and one of the planks of the communism.

It educates children DOWN to the lowest student in the school.

I pay the government to NOT educate my children, then I pay someone else I trust to actually educate them.

    It's a wonderful system.

My kids WILL NOT be a product of the Prussian Indoctrination System.

Also, school lunches were originally intended to fatten up kids for "National Security" because conscripts were too skinny.

    The more you know...

    These stories just keep coming

Apparently parents are no longer allowed to feed their children as they see fit anymore. To be sure, I think it is downright horrendous how terrible most people's diet is and I this epidemic of child obesity and child diabetes is a terrible thing and largely the fault of ignorant parents, BUT the federal government needs to keep the hell out of it.
