One I built myself. So I can cherry pick all the high speed low drag stuff.

These are a lot of nice rifles guys no doubt. I don't question anyone's veracity, but I'd really like to see the exact breakdowns on how you put together a KAC, Noveske, or Wilson Combat AR for less than 2g. I felt like I would save money assembling one and then when I really and honestly put together an itemized list of parts with tax and shipping, it was well more than I thought I had spent.

Would be cool to see a truthful and detailed list of "premium" AR build for less than 2g. I would also be of the thought that, as the OP meant it, (please correct me if I am wrong) a premium AR doesn't have an A2 flash hider, MOE hand guard, standard charge handle, etc. It should have premium components and not just a premium roll mark.

    Seems like a "what's your fav" with 1000 answers... I'll play :):

In no particular order, but if I were buying a complete one I'd probably go with one of these.

I own LMT and Seekins precision. They are some of the finest of the finest IMHO. That being said I really need/want a Noveske!!

    White Oak 20-22" varmint barrel
White Oak BCG matched to barrel
    Geissele SD-E trigger
    Mega billet matched upper/lower
    Colt LPK
    249F flash hider
    Diamondhead VRS-T rail
    Raptor ambi charging handle
    BCM buffer tube assy
    Magpul acs-l stock
    BCM mod3 grip
    BCM QD end plate
    Magpul enhanced aluminum trigger guard
BCM forward assist and dust cover
    Troy BUIS

I think that's pretty much everything, and would be under $2k if you shop around. Not sure what more you could want...

Bolt on your favorite mount and glass, and you'd be good to go.

Why would you get a BCM Buffer Tube Assembly and a UBR stock when you can't use the RE from BCM since the UBR has its own proprietary tube? All you need is a buffer spring and buffer.

Did not know that. I don't own that stock or plan to. My CTR has been fine for me. I was just listing a higher end one for reference.

    Changed it to an ACS-l

Nice Job Man! I am impressed. I have spare time, so I did a quick check for prices and my total came to $1964. That assumes no shipping or tax and some items were out of stock where I found them, but I'd say you did it. My only hiccup was that the varmint barrel wasn't threaded, but I assume you can sub in another WOA barrel.

Haha, I figured it'd be close. And I'd much rather have that build (personally) than any of the high end production ar's out there.

If I were wanting a high end ar, I'd always build my own. But to each their own.

I would say that is pretty good and a sweet setup. I guess my standpoint was trying to build one to mimic their current factory offerings. When I feel like being ashamed, I'll tally up my expenditures, but the Gen II Recces are salty anyway.

Those of you that don't include BCM in your list, why? Do you have something against them or just feel that your recommendations offer something superior?
