    No, it throws extruded just fine. Does it cut powder? Yes, sometimes...but not very much once the USER is running the thrower well.

    Yes, it does throw by volume, but I was under the impression that the OP already HAS a scale of some form. Was that incorrect?

    It throws well enough to hold less than 1/2 Minute vertical at 600 yards with the PITA 5.56x45mm cartridge...with irons. On an A2 AR. Just some food for thought.

    I have the Hornady and I like it. Had it for a couple years and have had no problems with it. Haven't loaded any rifle ammo yet with it. Just pistol.

    I think you made a good choice on the RCBS chargemaster 1500 combo. I've had mine since they first came out and I know it's played a big part of why I keep reloading. It's a quality piece of equipment that saves time and does a great job. I only use mine for match ammo where I'm weighing every round for long range. It does great. I have no experience with the Hornady, but I'm glad to see they're putting out equipment that's pushing the old names in the business.
