Staring at the roof of my Freightliner at a Flying J is pretty much the highlight of my Independence Day.

I spent the 4th of July at the Flying J on the hill of the west side of Albuquerque in 2009. The only 4th I spent away from home but it was a spectacular view! There was about 15 big displays giing on at once. It was in my Volvo mid roof.

Took me a while to put this 4th of July family portrait together. Carefully taking all of the children out of their assigned places in the vault, arranging them on the deck, setting up the tripod, and then putting everything away. Took me about 2 1/2 hours, but its something I've wanted to do for a while.

Anyway, happy July 4th from my me and a few of my closest friends!

I have to give some thought to what to put the patch on. Maybe I'll just pin it to my cubicle wall at work.

Hope everyone had a great holiday. I personally spent all day fishing today with a friend. Between the two of us we caught 19 bluegill and 10 largemouth bass. Nothing like fresh bluegill for dinner.

I thought I had a great day fishing, and then I came home to this!! That was the icing on the cake.

Life is great!!
