Looking at a possible move from Greencastle (Putnam County) to 6 acre place just north of Fowler (Benton County). Any info - good or bad will be a help.
Wind, lots of wind. Try to live as far away from a windmill as you can, they are rather noisy and the shadow will drive you nuts. Also be prepared for drifting snow, Benton County dose a fair job moving snow but it is a large county and only has so many resources. You will have to travel for major shopping, it's a long haul to Laffy.
Fowler is a nice, quiet town, it still has a lot of small mom-pop shops that are thriving. Subway, gas stations, grocery store, drugstore, bowling and movie theater are in town and the 100 mile house has great food
Other than that - it's generally rather quiet - provided you're well off of 52.
Buzzing down to W. Lafayette is rather easy - but you'll have to contend with a lot more traffic when school's in session and there are home basketball and football games. But it's also simple enough to time trips to town around those.
