Do you remember Willie Brown, mayor of SF? He was quite the lothario and he and Harris hooked up for awhile in the 1990s. He was technically still married, although separated for a LONG time from his wife. I think he even gave ... uh... special access to certain fundraisers.

Difficult to say to what extent the relationship helped her politically. Brown was polarizing. But, it probably didn't hurt.

That's all I'm aware of, although there may be more.

Its just another way to cast non-substantive aspersions on her character.

Without a trace of hypocrisy, when it comes from Trump supporters, of course.

Now it is her job to minimize any damage to her character which the left will willingly swallow and the right won't.

Brown's influence on Harris' career back then is obvious with two direct appointments to political plum positions. His influence on her being elected as district attorney is debatable. His influence now is probably zero or even less if that is possible.

Exactly right. Brown's role is water under the bridge, or more accurately, slime under the bridge. To me this leaves Harris on her own merits or lack thereof - not anywhere even remotely close to presidential material. She might be able to win an election in kalifornia but that is just about the worst recommendation ever for national office.
