While the complete absence of style place the Earth Shoe and Crocs in the same category, I would submit that by having laces and thus requiring at least some effort from the wearer, these are at least a notch or two above Crocs.

The costume designer for Idiocracy was looking for ridiculous futuresque clothing and found these then unknown shoes looking so stupid and foolish chose them to be the footwear for the future idiots - Crocs.

Crocs are fine for fishing. They drain and dry fast and have fair to good traction depending on the surface.
