    Actually, looking into it further, by February 2017 they had hired 8.8K vets... and have upped their commitment to 25K.

    We respect honest debate and the freedom of expression. Many of us served to protect that very right. Some of our brothers and sisters died protecting it. But to those who would suggest Starbucks is not committed to hiring veterans, we are here to say: check your facts, Starbucks is already there.

    Checking out the link below, I think Starbuck rightfully has a reason to be pissed that BRCC would try to frame them the way they did. I don't drink coffee, so I wouldn't know, but their commitment to vets is pretty damn impressive.

    Just dropping knowledge. Black Rifle Coffee has less than 400 employees. Starbucks over 200,000... AND made the pledge to hire 10K veterans in 2013. By early 2017, they had gotten to 8K vets hired. They also started a group called the Armed Forces Support Network, which has 14 chapters across the nation. So, I think knocking Starbucks in favor of BRCC, over this, is a tab bit foolish.

    Yeah. But Black Rifle Coffee has way better videos on Youtube. And their coffee doesn't taste like warm swill. Also, I think most of the people they hire are veterans. But it's a small company started by veterans.

    It's just an add. They're small enough to get into the virtue-signaling advertising and get away with it. Starbucks is going to get themselves in trouble.

    For Starbucks, all the "social responsibility" they try to do, is more likely to bite them in the ass. Because it's a sort of zero sum game. For every immutable group they favor, they disfavor another immutable group. Just sell the damn coffee and hire competent people, and STFU with the virtue signaling bull****. Don't discriminate for or against immutable groups, and the rest will take care of itself.

    I don't care what the barista's look like (well, attractive and friendly is obviously better than ugly and rude), or what country they're from. But if I'm there for a cup of coffee, I don't care what color is their skin or what country they came from. As long as they're competent, can understand what I want, not ill, not rude, and are sufficiently hygienic for working with food/drinks, whatever. I just want a product worth paying for.

    But if they go beyond that to promote one ethnic group over another, they're discriminating based on immutable features and that is wrong. Period. To me, instead of signaling virtue, they're signaling disgrace.

    Starbucks is large enough worldwide, and has created loyal customers to their "crack," that they can virtue signal as much as they want. Crackheads don't care who is selling the crack, as long as they get it. BRCC, by the name alone is niche, and won't ever threaten Starbuck's share, and if they did by some amazing feat, Starbucks would buy them. BRCC says they want to open 600 stores in the next 5-6 years. Now those guys, are REALLY smoking crack.

    I don't really disagree with that, generally.

    But there's more than a niche market for specialty market coffee snobs. In the Louisville Area, Heine Brother's is pretty big for a local chain. And it's way better than the lukewarm swill from Starbucks. Also, when the Blackbeard truck comes around, that's another area favorite. I think there's probably plenty of growth potential for coffee snob shops. However, yes. 600 stores in 5-6 years is unrealistically aggressive.

    Peet's is really top notch coffee, and it's growing pretty fast with ~200 locations now. But they're mostly located in high coffee snob populated areas like the Left Coast. And Peet's can coexist there, because they're progressive and probably won't get their windows bashed in by activist crazy people. BRCC franchises likely won't spring up in those areas. Too many brick throwing coffee swilling commies.

    But I hope they put a BRCC in this area. I've never tried it but if it's on par with Heine Bros, and it's competitively priced, I'd drink it.

    I hate coffee. And the only reason I'll drink Arby's Jamocha shakes, is because someone told me it was a caramel flavored shake. Which I have convinced myself is true.
