I've had an expandable baton in my car since I was 16, since the state didn't recognize my right to defend myself with a handgun, and I've been to Michigan several times with it in my car.

Did I commit a felony every time? I also have change in my car, which could be more deadly than sand if put into a bag. Is carrying change also illegal? Are there perhaps criminal amounts of change, over three dollars worth, hmm? Is it a felony to drive a car? It could be used to run people over. Perhaps it should be a felony to posses a brain, since with a brain, one could articulate a way to harm other people.

I don't know if this is relevant but the news said he is a habitual criminal. Maybe because he is a felon, these "items" are considered a felony? I don't know though...

The trumped up charges are ridiculous, I agree.
    But, he is a nut.
Probably really shouldn't be on the streets.
    Simple as that.
Sorry if I rained on anyone's parade. :)

Michigan people. Michigan law. Their laws are one of the many reasons I'll never move back willingly.

The bludgeon, sap, etc. stuff - all Michigan law.

Mighigan law also places limits on pepper spray with regard to quantity and formulation.

    Sucks to be him.

He was caught dressed up as another character one other time. That was the only specific example cited. Those items are felonies in MI regardless.

This guy is either mental, or badass.
