Because a consumer hasn't sued the manufacturer for the wrong-doings of a 3rd party, yet.I've often wondered why more consumables don't have tamper-proof seals/lids on them.
Tub-O-butter? may or may not have one. Ice cream? Same deal.

Yep. Land-o-Lakes, the country's largest "butter" producer, had something line $14 BILLION in net sales, but only $240 MILLION in net earnings.It's possible that the margins on these products are so thin that even simple proactive steps would be prohibitive.
