Taking away the Negative Rep is similar to -

The government taking away the punishment for crimes.
No more punishment, then there's no more incentive NOT to do the crime.


Give us back Negative Rep so we can Punish again.

Lol, and that's why our rep system is silly.

Our rep system is marred only by the fact that it doesn't max out the rep points that can be given/received. So old-timers who keep accumulating it, keep giving more and more of it. I think I give four badges now.

I like the rep system as a means to share thoughts privately that don't really warrant a PM, but without the neg rep and/or a max on the points, it's not really all that meaningful anymore.
