Not even sure if the Break Room is the right place for this, but here goes.

Please, please, please donate to legit charities / Red Cross if you can.

Most of us have probably seen pics/videos on the news / social media about how bad it is in East TN and West NC. What you see is only a small portion.

Legit humanitarian crisis in many of these areas.

People need literally everything; especially things for babies. Diapers and formula are 2 big ones.

Water jugs. Ways to keep clean water jugs clean. Water purification stuff.

My brother-in-law and his wife live near Hendersonville, NC. They're thankfully fine - so so so many are not.

While donating to the cause is a good thing for sure, i would use due diligence on where you donate to. For me Red Cross would not be one. Who knows what amount of the money would actually be used where needed especially since they like to spend it on illegals. Thread for reference below

    Another worthy cause. UMCOR.

UMCOR is run by the United Methodist Church. And the UMC itself covers the operational overhead of UMCOR.

Because of that "corporate" support, literally 100% of your donation goes directly to help those in need. not 90% not 85%, but 100%.

    Donations badly needed!

Our church is partnering with https://ides.org/ - based in Noblesville, IN.
And as when you consider donating, CASH IS KING.

While going to sams club and buying cases of water to put on a truck or plane to be hauled 500+ miles feels really good and gratifying to see our works drive away, its not the most efficient use of resource.

So once you give them your physica donation, that truck or jet is going to need to be fed. That $800 in diesel or jet fuel could better serve those charities if they could use it to buy the same supplies you purchased 100 miles or closer and bring it in that way. Imagine them being able to buy $700 of water, TP, etc because they only had to truck it an hour instead of 2 states away?

    Just something to consider.

Samaritan's Purse is a highly reputable organization for sure. Dr. Phil is a POS charlatan.

Anyhow - my brother in law and his wife had their power restored yesterday afternoon sometime. And their particular area wasn't super hard hit from a flooding standpoint.

The areas we see are/were bad. The areas we can't see are much much worse.
