I always find it interesting to see where people have been other than the United States. I always feel I have a unique oppurtunity to be travelling. So whos been where and what did you like/hate about it.

Japan: alot of fun really busy
Korea: 2 years of work sucked but korea is awesome alot of culture.
Turkey: Only been here a short while but very interesting how western and middle eastern culture mix.

and I cant wait to go to Spain next.

Dominican Republic in July. Danged hot. Very humid. Hot and humid. AC doesn't keep up hot & humid. Ocean and beaches are spectacular, though. Would love to go back. But not. in. the. summer.

Vancouver, BC, Canada. Absolutely gorgeous city and area. Fantastic climate if you don't mind somewhat rainy winters. Never a shortage of "outdoors" type stuff to do. Mild winters, but still a short jaunt to altitude for snow-sports.

Germany: Mid and Northern cities like Hamburg, Berlin, Heidelburg - Very nice country. Loved the history, castles, and people. Everyone was very nice, and I did make attempt to speak as much German as possible. It did help that we had our family friend act as our tour-guide. I look forward to returning to see the South.

India: New Dehli, Agra, and Pune areas - This was an eye-opening experience. I went for work purposes, and did get to enjoy some of the tourist sites like the Taj Mahal. But the area is very poor and I quickly was thankful for what we have here in the States. I don't recommend for a family or young children visit, but if you are looking for an inner reflection.. go for it.

I definently feel that way here in Turkey. its amazing how some poor people live like they are invisible to the world. The Kurds who live in the area I work is horrible. The things ive seen those people do to survive is sad. But just a few miles away is a resort where pets get treated better than people.

Spent a year in South Korea and hated every minute of it. There is precious little I liked about the country, culture or the food.

Let's start with several places in the Carribean. The Exumas in the Bahamas. Haiti, Turks and Caicos..Bonaire. England, including Bath and London. In Mexico...Cozumel, playa del Carmen. Venezuela. Outside of Manila in the Philippines.
With all of these places I found really good people with interesting and different cultures trying to make it in this world. Rich or poor most seemed happy.

I have been to Guatemala about 7 or 8 times.
My entire family(mom's side and dad's side), are from Guatemala, so there is a lot of people to visit :P
it isn't terribly hot. For the most part, it is always between 70 to 90 Degrees.
It really depends on whether you live in the mountains or not.
    It rains a lot though.
It is also not very safe. Some places, you are almost guaranteed to get robbed if they have any reason to think you are american or look white.

One very cool thing though, is since my grandfather and my father both have their gun licenses over there, I automatically have a license as well.
All I would have to do, once over there, is contact the appropriate office to get it sent to me.

Been to Spain, France, Italy, Monaco and the Vatican. I loved seeing the different perspective on life in the Mediterranean - i. e. the relaxed and simpler way of living. I especially fell in love with Barcelona. The city has great infrastructure and I loved the architecture. If it weren't for the socialism that runs rampant in those countries and the disdain for guns I would love to eventually retire in the region.

Coolest places were Yugoslavia and Hungary in the late '70's while still under communist rule. We as students/kids were treated very well, the adults on our trip did not receive such great accommodations. Worst part was crossing from Hungary into Yugoslavia. Sat at the border for about 4 hours with machine gun armed guards standing inside the front of our bus.

I had the chance to go to the Bahamas a few years ago with a group of friends and had a blast. One of the people in the group has an uncle who lives down there so we got to stay with him. We didnt have the typical "touristy" vacation, got to spend a lot of time with locals doing "local" things.
