I plan on going. I went last month but we shot steel instead (which was a first for me also) so If I can get out and load some ammo......I'll be there.

You guys shot steel instead of pins? I liked steel and was looking forward to trying pins, I'll be happy either way :D

Marion County Fish and Game. Saturday. It's on the main page at the bottom under calendar I believe also.

It will be too cold to shoot pins on Saturday.
Temperatures below 35 degrees contribute to the pins shattering and splintering too much.
We waste too many pins under cold conditions.

We will be shooting steel plates on Saturday.
We will have 3 groups of plates at various distances from the covered firing line.
This will be just for fun although we will record times.
Please note: our version of steel shooting is not like Friday Night Steel or a Steel match in Atlanta. Its much less involved.
However, we are focused on safety.

$2 per shooter to shoot the stages as many times as time allows.
We usually finish shooting before noon.

Hmm sounds like fun, but I may have to pass on it this time. Cold, early and all, I'll have to think... :dunno:

ETA: If I do make it up there, I'd shoot the G19 for cheaper ammo though :)

    Nate,
When the weather gets warm, we shoot pins.
It may be worth a drive up to shoot bowling pins, but likely not worth a drive up for our version of shooting steel.
When it gets warmer we look forward to shooting bowling pins again.

    Jimboindy,
Your emails have been bouncing back, are you receiving emails from the bowling pin list?

We had too few shooters at starting time to bother setting up the plates.
We hung around for an hour or so. just shooting the breeze,
but still not enough shooters showed up.
I believe a few people stayed to shoot, but I did not.
    Oh well, maybe next month.
