I was lucky enough to buy my first two Mosin Nagants tonight and I couldn't be happier. I don't know a lot about these rifles but these two are some of the nicest I've seen. I can't wait to shoot them.

That's a nice way to start the collection. They are a bunch of fun to shoot. Bradis has cans of 7.62x54r for $139 right now. It's up a bit, as it used to go for $109 but it still makes for some cheap shooting.

MC Sports in Bloomington had Mosins for $99 when I was there last night. Seemed to be decent with nice wood-still learning about what to look for-but these seemed better looking and not nearly as rough as what Bradis had for $139.

Better watch it, they are contagious. After I bought my first M91/30 I then picked up:

    2 M91/59s
    1 M38
    1 M91/38
    1 M91
    1 M44

All except the M91 are matching and all except the M91 and one of the M91/59's are Tulas.

I just saw a Mosin Japanese trainer which you can find that does not have a magazine well or floorplate. There is a whole assortment of Finnish, Japanese, German, Belgian, Polish, Spanish, Hungarian, Romanian, Czech, Yugoslavian, Vietnamese, Syrian, East German, and Bulgarian Mosins to choose from so you could be in a lot of trouble.

There is a very big interest in Finnish Mosins and they are considered to be the best Mosins for quality. My favorites are the ones with the tiger striped stocks.

    Must stop myself!

I agree with Mosins being contagious... I picked up my first 91/30 this weekend and I love it

I got my first one at the last 1500. It's a 1891/30, 1934 octagon receiver in really nice condition. I have it all cleaned up and ready to shoot, but I'm going to have to wait. . . I just had shoulder surgery a week ago and am not ready to get kicked yet! :nopity:

Welcome to Mosins Anonymous. Check your wallet at the door. ;)

I bought two rifles when my disease started - an m95 Steyr Mannlicher and a 91/30 Tula (1942). Since then on M-N's I've grabbed a 91/59, an M44, a Finn M39 with "Puolustuslaitos" marking on it, and a m91 Finn'd Remington build. And I still want more of them LOL
