    Breaking news:
Peyton wins record fourth league MVP. Info here.

There were some other amazing performances this year- Brett Favre, Drew Brees, and Chris Johnson in particular. Peyton easily ranked with any of these people both in terms of both performance and importance to his team. Congratulations, Peyton!

With all the rookies and young/new receivers, Payton had to work overtime to keep everything rolling. He did it and I'm glad he was recognized for it.:yesway:

The NFL, NBA, NHL, and baseball leagues should give out real awards...

    'remained faithful in marriage award'
    'was an excellent father award'
    'finished his GED award'
    'did not gang bang award'

    ....

I'd be impressed with him then...

I do agree it's getting hard to follow ANY sports nowadays without running into this stuff. I guess it reflects what is going on in our society as a whole.:dunno:

That said, Manning has kept himself clean and away from the vices of other sports figures. I'll give him credit until I see different.

Its been a good day. Met some fellow ingoer's and Peyton wins MVP. He def deserved it but so did Brees, Farve, and Johnson. But like somone said only one can win. And with a young team and 7 COMEBACK WINS. I can see why Peyton got 39 out of the 50 votes.

Mettle, that is some funny stuff right there, I don't care who you are!!!
I am a huge Colts fan, but I believe that Favre should have won it this year, hell of a job with that team!!!

not to hijack this thread or to take away from peytons mvp award, but Tony Dungy took Tampa Bay to the super bowl, left to come here to Indy,John Gruden took over at Tampa Bay-Bam in the super bowl again, next year Tampa Bay sux....Tony takes Colts to the super bowl leaves a couple years later,Jim Caldwell now has a chance at the super bowl with a team Tony built...so will the Colts go back to sucking next year if they make it all the way?

sorry just a thought on my mind

What's not to be impressed. he supports the community, here, in the U of T area and his hometown in Louisiana. You don't see him doing the "what about me" thing, never bad mouths the organization, professional to the hilt, not snobbish, and to this date I only remember him saying anything bad about a teammate once, and that was the "Liquored up kicker" comment about Vanderjant at the Pro Bowl 5 years ago.

He's not the most gifted athletic person, but the brain between his ears and that laser rocket arm, his ability to thread the needle and relentless attack to be as close to perfection as possible in my opinion is just awesome. Uses his God given talents, and hones them everyday.
