    I live in a Amish area near Lagrange. Too old and battered to be of help but the group work in sounds great. When I see what a dozen willing Amish folks do to help one in trouble or starting out it's amazing.

    I think this type of paying forward can be a salvation for our country and part of our survival experience.

    Make sure you check for mold, if that roof has been leaking water in, you could have mold issues which is hazardous to you and your wife to be's health. Either way, I'd fix up the house over the long term and just get some cheap insulation, insulate the small shed for the winter, and put the wood stove in there, but take all the precautions needed to ensure you don't burn it down while you're asleep.
