Let's look at your remarks from a slightly different perspective. We got Clinton1 because the Democrat-controlled Congress lied to Bush41 and got him to agree to raise taxes without their coming through with promised spending cuts. We got Clinton2 because the Republicans picked a lousy candidate who ran a lackluster campaign "because it was his turn". We got Bush43 because the alternative was "Uncle Al (Gore) the Environment's Pal" and because Bush43 caused us to strike back at the terrorists who killed 3k people on our soil AND because most of us perceived John Kerry to be the pacifistic leftist that he is. We got BHO primarily because the Republicans picked another lousy candidate "because it was his turn". If McCain hadn't been such a dickhead and done just about EVERYTHING wrong that he possibly could have done wrong, there was an even chance that we could have been stuck with a mediocre President McCain instead of a horrendously bad President Obama.

Right...all of which was decided on by the electorate. There were still other candidates to vote for in the primary and the general. We the electorate keep allowing our choices to be dumb or dumber which is the point of the OP.

Modern national politics are complicated and expensive. Not only that, a prospective candidate must craft a message acceptable to a significant fraction of the population in order to be successful at garnering financing as well as electoral support. Until freedom-loving citizens rally around the concepts of smaller government and returning to the original meaning of the Constitution and begin to elect like-minded representation in Congress and begin clamoring for like-minded Judges in Federal Courts and a reduction in the bloated federal bureaucracy, we'll continue having to choose between the lesser of the evils presented to us.

    Quite true:

Fathers do need to sit down, face to face, and tell Truth to their children. Dads, look your kids straight in the eyes and say, "I am your father, and here's the way it ... ..." No, wait. That's not a workable plan, after all. EBG
Sad but true. The only way to change this direction is to raise our children and influence any other children in our lives to understand what is wrong with our country as a whole today.

    Well said :yesway:

We just need to get that message out to the electorate. Unfortunately, it looks like the only way this lesson is to be learned is the teenager method, let's see how bad I can screw up before I realize how right my parents were.
