    NOBLESVILLE
Just salvaged some of my old computer parts that the long lasting power surge a couple of weeks ago took out.
I had four HDDs in it and they all work fine in a different box. I salvaged all my data that I hadn't backed up yet, which wasn't much, just a few new CD rips.
Left the "C" drive in so I could work on it some more. I haven't figured out what lost its smoke, yet.
At this point, I'm guessing something to do with the mobo.

The old wicked awesome sound card is not firmware compatible with the new box I just bought, but I'll find something to do with it.

The other three drives are 1TB, SATA and probably not worth bleaching and offering on eBay even.
The more modern, strong power supply, measures good. Might just keep the rest of the box together as teaching/learning tool for my son, if his interest continues.

I've replaced the pricey Monster surge protector I was using, which obviously failed to protect.
Instead, I bought two Tripp Lites from Amazon to use in parallel.
