I lived up by simonton but that was 35 years ago.

There's a newer section on the North side of the lake, and it's still pretty nice.

Elkhart used to be a big deal in the music world.

The lovely folks from the South side, began migrating to the North side, to avoid the element moving into the South side.
Now that element has infiltrated the whole area.

Similar to what's happening here, but people are just moving farther south. A good deal of the southside here has seen a huge influx of Chin (from Myanmar) immigrants, but the main criminal element is flowing down from the city to the south.

The Selmer building sat empty for a number of years, and a few years ago, it was converted to low income senior apartments.
