The company I work for (almost 33 years) used to have a no facial hair policy. At some point they had to change that because they couldn't hire any good IT people. Then HR said all employees had to be treated the same. My department sort of made it know for a few more years that they still didnt approve. But now it is okay, but we have to keep it trimmed extremely short at all times. Screw that.

At one point they allowed mustaches. I tried to tell them back then that in my community, I should be able to have a beard and no mustache so I would look more trustworthy.

The only places that can "legally" do that now are if you are Required to wear a Oxygen mask - Firefighters - Hazardous Chemicals - etc
