Is this picture taken during the actual Anthem? I'm a little confused by it.

    2u5qo2v.jpg

Only one guy has his hand over his heart, at least one person is still wearing a hat, and (assuming that's the "official" flag in the center), half of you have your backs turned to the flag. Never mind the fact that it's not hoisted.

The flag was in front of us, the one at the war memorial. I don't believe we were actually singing at this point. We were just about to start when a chopper passed, so we waited. When we actually sang everyone I saw removed their hat and did have their hand over their hearts.

ETA: We were most certainly not singing at the time of this photo!

GREAT pics, I hope there are more to come. It was good to see a decent turn-out. We even had a contingency that drove in from Ohio! Four really nice guys, (sorry, I don't recall the names), found a reference to the walk a couple of weeks ago, gathered up a few buddies, and drove over to join us and show their support.

It was a nice walk! The police were VERY helpful, lit escort most of the way.

Ok, so these guys all claim to be true patriots, right?

Yet look in the National Anthem picture...several people are not covering their hearts, one guys has his hat still on, no one is even looking at the freaking flag...and worst of all, the frakking Gadson flag is held higher than our American flag!

These guys don't respect the flag, let alone deserve to carry it, especially under the guise of Patriotism and a "rights" march.

It is easy to spout off about being a "true" patriot when the word has no meaning to you. This picture is an offense to the flag, my country, and anyone who has served it.

I'm sorry it is harsh, but it is the truth the way I see it.

Ohhh I see. So you guys can make the same statement about the riots in Pittsburgh based on YouTube video's that show one perspective, but no one can do it to you?

That my friend is one heck of a big double standard!

Reap what you sow, my friend.

Since you were not there, you should be sure you have all the facts before you criticize.

The picture was taken BEFORE the National Anthem was sung. Since the "Official" American Flag is on a 40' pole, it is NOT even in the picture.

I AM a vet, and I was there. EVERYONE there was respectful of the flag! But you wouldn't know that .

Check your facts next time. This type of post makes you appear woefully ill informed! :twocents:

I've already recieved a few PM's about my post so let me explain:

In the closed thread about the riots in PA, all of you were very quick to condemn the police based on slanted videos posted on the errornet. I am doing exactly the same to you, see how it goes! You cannot believe anything you see on the web.

According to some of you since there was video of events happening a certain way, there could not be any other explanation for the way things happened.

Based on this photo and Scutter's and I view of it, contrary to what actually happened, do you thing maybe your views of the PA situation might change?

Huh, kinda makes one think a bit, now doesn't it?

I don't even know what you are referring to nor do I care. NO ONE should just to conclusions before they have all the facts!

Friend .... I would most definitely not consider you a friend.

If you feel so compelled to make a comment about something you know NOTHING about maybe you should have joined us to begin with to see for yourself, although from your past couple statements it would seem you would be on the opposite side.

    Yes, yes we do...

This was taken previous to the Anthem (there should be a youtube video put up soon of us singing) we were taking a moment to rest and decide how we gonna proceed...

These guys don't respect the flag, let alone deserve to carry it, especially under the guise of Patriotism and a "rights" march.
How bout next time you show up, and show us the "right way to do things". I carried the Gadsden flag through the march, and there was a lot of coordination to make sure I was several steps behind the American Flag. However the only reason the Gadsden flag was at the height it was, was because the pole was 3 feet longer and I had a foot and a half on the guy carrying Old Glory.

It is easy to spout off about being a "true" patriot when the word has no meaning to you. This picture is an offense to the flag, my country, and anyone who has served it.
I think you may want to take that back before a few of the Vets that took part in the walk take exception to that statement

I'm sorry it is harsh, but it is the truth the way I see it.
    Well you saw wrong

Chill out dude, quit trying to cause trouble :patriot: :ingo:

No, I don't want to "rethink" my position!

I was NOT a participant in the thread you refer to, and I don't believe I even read it.

So, how does this make ME hypocritical?

You accuse ME of not being patriotic? :dunno:

You do not have a clue!:xmad:

Alright, my question about the photo was not meant to start a fight. If you still want to discuss it, I would suggest taking it to PM's.

No crap, just making a point. Just because you see something in a pic, or on YouTube, or even on the nightly news, does not mean it happened that way.

Mgderf, now you see why some of us get upset when others spout off about facts that they are basing thier opinions off of from a single pic or video. That is my piont, and you have done a wonderful job of making it for me. For that I thank you.

I think these posts speak for themselves.

"There's one in every crowd", that's what my grandpa used to say.
