I think it would have to be a Rem. 700 series probably in .243... If you think about it, it can take out mid-sized game, small game, intruders, and zombies. :) In think that about sums it up.

    My saiga 308 hands down.

I have about $3k in the AR15 but when it comes to a brutally effective and stone cold reliable gun with decent range and excellent operation, it can't touch the saiga. It'll shoot dimes at 100yards but the saiga might actually shoot something more practical.

I chose a gun that I don't even have right now, but plan on getting again this year.

    Should SHTF:

    - gives me the ability to carry a few thousand rounds easily
    - use for hunting both small and large game quietly with a fluted, supressed barrel
    - also allows the accuracy to use as a baby sniper rifle to obtain other rifles/handguns
    - easy to care for, find spare parts

I would have to pick my Savage model 24,.22 over 20 ga.
Effective on everything from bad piney squirrels to bad men.

I would also go with my Savage 24 in 20ga/22lr. If I could add a sidearm it would be my S&W 629-5 3" .44mag.

I would probably say I would have my 870. I can hunt and protect myself and my family with it and I've had no problems at all with it in like 10 yrs.

It would be a H... of a thing to have to make such a choice, but I think that I would have to go with either my Beretta 85FS or my Beretta Modello 1934. The 1934 might get the nod as it would be more "pocketable".
