I found this site while doing some checking on Jack Childress, gunsmith from Bloomington, IN. My .243, made from a Mauser 98, has "Jack Childress Custom Gunsmith Bloomington, IND" stamped on it. The stock was made by my grandfather, Burgess Snow (also from Bloomington). It is my understanding that my grandfather made quite a few custom stocks for people. He died back in 1984. Was kind of curious if anyone out there knew of my grandfather or has a gun for which he made the stock.
