Everyone, this is pretty new news, but during a SWAT standoff an Indiana State Police officer has been shot and a K9, Kilo, has been killed. I dont have any further information other than this, but we need to keep this officer in our prayers for a quick recovery. It is extremely sad to hear when a K9 officer is killed in the line of duty.

I can see two news choppers (WAVE/WHAS and WLKY) circling from my front porch.

Standoff is a couple streets from our babysitter's house...and there's a K9 named Kilo that lives about 8 houses down from me (Clarksville PD). Not sure if the same K9 or not.

Sorry the officer was shot, glad it was "only" a leg wound, sad to hear the K9 was killed, hoping the perp gets what is coming to him.

From what I have heard Kilo the Clarksville K9 was not the officer involved, but another K9 named Kilo that was on ISP.

IIRC the Anderson PD lost their K9 officer named Kilo during a standoff last summer. The APD lost 2 K9s within a few weeks of each other. Sad news. I hope the officer has a speedy recovery.

Very tragic. Shooter would be lucky to walk away from this one. But if he does walk away, it's sad to say that the prison system won't keep him as a guest long enough to prevent him from doing it again some day.

RIP to Kilo and I hope the detective has a fast and speedy recovery. I hope that no more LEO are injured by this buffoon and should he try to kill any more, I hope he meets a swift and just end to his pathetic life.

    Godspeed to the officer...

"Clark County Sheriff Danny Rodden said the deputy, who was rushed via police escort to University of Louisville Hospital, is in stable condition. LMPD (Louisville Metro Police Department) officers assisted Indiana emergency crews and closed streets while the deputy was being rushed to the hospital. A WHAS11 photographer was at the hospital when the deputy arrived and said the deputy was alert and talking when he was taken out of the ambulance." WHAS 11 News as of 9:00 PM

    Very sad.

I guess Kilo must be a common police dog name. As I also at first thought it was Clarksville's Kilo. His handler & the dept. seem pretty proud of the dog, with his name and picture being on the side of his handler's department SUV. Nice officer & dog from my limited interaction.
Regardless, I hate to see any police dog (or officer) harmed. Hopefully the scum who shot them gets what he deserves.

Just got a call from one of my very best buddies who is a LEO down there. Wanted to let me know he was "still sucking air". He said he just spent 8 hours at the scene and is beat. Officer was shot above the knee, did not break bone or arteries, going into surgery tomorrow to clean up the wound.

Guy in the house had a Glock 23. Probably should not post this on internet but I figure the media will make something up anyway. Plus I know somebody is going to ask.

You can trust the MSM to turn an M-23 into an "assault weapon" shooting "Armor piercing, Cop killing, explosive, fragmentation grenade bullets at over 2000 rounds per minute."
    Oh yeah.
The perp bought in through the mail at a gun show and the ID he showed was his Little Orphan Annie Official Fan Club Membership Certificate.
