I sent him an e-mail as soon as I learned he was going to run and told him that I would tell everyone I could that they should not vote for him.
His people wrote back and asked why. I wrote back and told them it was he was a "Chicago Politician" and in my opinion, just as corrupt as the "Daily Machine" and Gov. "Blago".
    (Then I blocked them!):):

So, I'm already on their "doo doo" list! :rockwoot:

    That is definitely openly defiant

I'm still wondering where the gun toting acid tripping hippies are that assassinated people 30-40 years ago are....:n00b:[/quote]

Sadly, I have a feeling that we will see a bit of that if Obama should happen to get in. Can you imagine the sense on "entitlement" that some would express, the boldness.!?

Weather Underground! Now there is something Obama (Chi-town guy) should understand. But, we wont get into the crazy socialist stuff. We will start our own Weather Underground, but with blackjack and hookers. Okay, forget about the blackjack :D. (Im in a mood today)

As much as I dislike true socialism, I do look at Weather Underground with a little respect. Only in as far as their devotion, now how they did it (their means)

I think the drugs helped "mold" their thinking and perception of the world of that day.

Drugs suck! It was a time of protest, change and the aftermath because of change from former decades. At least that is what they taught me in school. We just dont have the radical change they had in the 50s, 60s, 70s today .
Back to the topic: Obama Sucks, drugs rule (I mean suck)!

this is what they replied to our e-mails

    Dear Friend,
Thank you for contacting us. Senator Obama has the deepest respect for Law Enforcement Officers and their families, especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect their fellow Americans.
We deeply regret the mistake that was made. When we learned about the incident, we immediately reached out to the Portland Police Department and the Portland Police Association and sent a formal letter of apology. Please find the text of that letter below.
Thank you again for contacting us.
    Sincerely,
    Obama for America

Dear Chief Sizer and President King:

When we learned about the Portland Police Memorial, we shared your disappointment and concern. We offer our deepest apologies to the Portland Police Department, the Portland Police Association, and the families and colleagues of those who have fallen in the line of duty.

We want to assure you and your fellow officers that no disrespect was intended. An unacceptable error in judgment was made while trying to accommodate disabled supporters. The Obama campaign takes full responsibility and apologizes for any pain this incident may have caused.

Senator Obama has the deepest respect for law enforcement officers across the country who make our streets safer and our families more secure, and for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf. Our campaign has nothing but respect for Portland’s dedicated police officers.

We want to be clear - this type of mistake will not be repeated. On behalf of the Obama for America campaign, we are sorry. If you would like to discuss further or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Sincerely,

    Rob Hill

I got the same response to my email to Obama's office. Lip service indeed.

Also just a side note. I grew up in the 60's and would have been considered a "hippie" in a lot of ways. Given that, it was an unusual time and if you weren't there it is hard to describe it. Luckily for me I had a solid foundation of ethics and responsibility taught to me by my parents. I think that many of us from that era have become solid citizens. For the most part I am now, on most issues, very conservative but there are hot buttons for me that would be considered liberal. Finding a person that I can vote for in any election of importance can be most difficult. Usually I end up voting for the more conservative candidate but too many times it is just for the lesser of two evils.

Too bad that common people have no chance of reaching any sort of important elected office these days. Most of us have more common sense than the choices we are given.

    Ok, off my soapbox now.
