It's the first weekend in October and that means it's time to exercise your house main water value.

    1. Find the value and turn the water off.

    2. Run a cold faucet and see how the water begins to go from full flow to a trickle.

    3. Look at the water meter and ensure the numbers are NOT moving.

4a. If the numbers DO NOT move then congrads your shut off value still works. Turn on the shut off value, see the water meters numbers turn and then turn off the faucet. You are done!

4b. If the numbers are still moving, then your shut off value is no longer working right. You may need to replace it or tighten it down.

If you have 2 values like jedi does turn them both off and on to exercise them and ensure they don't get stuck.

Also it's time to check your furnance to make sure it works before the winter arrives. Here is a simple cleaning tip as well to ensure the flame sensor is clean. Dirty flame sensor will turn off the furnance.

    I didn't know it was a thing.

BTW are you a pro with city water??
Sadly jedi learned the HARD way in 2022 what occurs if you never exercise the value and then when you have a pipe break and you attempt to close the value and it won't close... :xmad:

And off course this occurs on the weekend in the evening!
