Took the day off trying to catch up on yard work. Started by burning half the brush so I could get the rest and burn that. Got that done and more manual labor than I’ve done in a while. And I stepped on a hawthorn needle early in the day and my foot hurts now. Those who have worked with hawthorns can appreciate that!

Those things hurt like hell. Took one in the knee once and had trouble walking for about 3 hours. Burn!

That’s how I learned “not” to go squirrel hunting in tennis shoes.

Alway have safety glasses on and 90% of the time steel toe safety shoes, the old work pair. Today I had old loafers on with soft soles. Guess I need to kick that 90% up a few percentage points!

It’s nice to get out of those **** boots, but then you don’t think about it and next thing you know WOW that hurts. When they break off you can count on a trip to the er. Ask me how I know.
I was in there for about 3 hrs. Low priority in an er. where there are folks with real emergencies.
