Make sure no one is pouring GREASE down the drain.
    :xmad:

I don't care if you wash it down with hot water. The water gets cold REAL FAST.
You just make the grease solidify further down the pipe.
As long as it makes it out to the public sewer most people don't give a damn.

I'm on a well & septic so I make sure that grease does not go into our system. Quick way to clog up a septic system is with grease.

More likely, it makes it into the wall and clogs up.
    Or, just outside the house.
Either way, you're looking at #$$$$$$$$$$$$

    I assume you soften water.

Where do you run your regen line? Into septic?

I'm a little nervous about pouring grease that hot into the can.
Let it cool, pour it into the trash. If it is hot, pour it into a jar or can that is already in the trash. You can also put a piece of aluminum foil into the bottom of your sink, form it into the drain, and pour the grease into that foil; let it cool, and then dispose of it in the trash.

If it is BACON grease it goes into a glass jar, which lives in the refrigerator until it is called upon to make a ho-hum dish taste better.

we live on top of a 60' ridge overlooking a river, there is drain that goes out to the hillside
Do you know of any side effects from running regen into a non septic thing? Like grey water?

My washer and kitchen sink do not go into the septic. There is a separate tank or something.

I love when putting flags on graves, when people approach and tell you their relative NEVER GETS A FLAG.
    Really?
You mean, there is nothing on the grave marker to indicate military service, and you wonder why we don't know to put a flag on it?
You can't put a single flag on your relative's grave, and yet I'm supposed to know when I'm helping cover 400 acres of flags?
    Ugh.
I hurt. So I am cranky.
400 acres! I sore thinking about that. Before my wife's dad retired, he farmed 500 acres and that took a while.

I remember my parents wash water literally flowed into the yard with a flex hose, greenest part of the yard. My softener at my last house regened right into the septic tank, not sure of the repercussions of that, but that’s how it was. We have a softener now, but we have sewer service and well water
