The wife did our taxes last week and with me changing jobs and our oldest progressing on to the "adult" world, we owe for the first time. Measures have already been taken to avoid this in the future.

I just sign my name where they tell me. I don't want to know. Seems like every time I have two nickels to rub together, they want those too.

What are you slackers doing? My taxes are filed, federal refund in the bank and check written for the state to be mailed as late as possible.

Staying in today. I'm fed up with the cold and jedi's snow.

The oldest moving out had the least impact.

The gap between leaving one job and qualifying for the retirement program at the new job stuck it to us. Due to the old places rules I had to close out my account or move it to my new employer, no other option. The tax withholding they quoted was too low. So a little hit there.

Also, the new employer is in Michigan and they don't withhold state or county tax for us Indiana employees. There are only like 3 of us so we have to do estimated quarterly or just wait until the end of the year and see how it goes. This is our first time with estimated taxes but I think we have it figured out now.

Yep. Good day to watch NCAA basketball and clean a few pistolas. If I was still a drinking man I'd be lit up by now!
