Good thing I sleep after work on midnights.
The neighbor has been using a chainsaw the last hour or so. But I was already awake.

It's "cute" you think you have seniority.


Remember, the last batch of lay offs, were people under 3 years.
So.. you might wait for 5 years before breathing easier.


On that note, we have a seniority list in my shop. It's nice seeing my name so high. And seeing people above me, that I know are retiring, some this month, some this year.



When I asked a question about retirement on a union webpage, I apparently sparked the interest of a BUNCH of disgruntled people also interested in leaving.

Meh. Point is I no longer have to be the one that has to do the **** nobody else wants to do, and the next LG2 opening on our line is mine.

Well looks like my chance at a 1k day at work on Saturday is blown. The second shift guy plans on coming back from reserve training in time to work his shift and puts him 1st out for 3rd. At least I'll get 16 ot today. See act here at Burns Harbor we hardly see any ot so when it's passed out like candy some of us jump on it

When I didn't get it, I'd also jump.
That was years ago.
Start working months on end of 7 day weeks, 12 hour days...
Or 5 double shifts in a row..
And so on and so on.
then it's not so fun.

I just bought a new Generac portable generator. It is supposed to be very quiet. I need to test it out.

I can run it under your bedroom window to prove it really is quiet.

I just bought a new Generac portable generator. It is supposed to be very quiet. I need to test it out.

I can run it under your bedroom window to prove it really is quiet.

nah, we bought a light bulb last year.

Water wheel is now only for the grain mill for when mamma needs to grind up some flour for baking bread.

Well, Friday wasn't too crazy at work. Managed to get quite a bit done. It is nice to actually do the job you are hired for and not run around all day

Got my wife the new S&W Ez shield for her upcoming b-day. Delivered to a friends house this afternoon, he's my ffl. Go pick it up in North Judson tomorrow morning, then probably just go straight to range from there. Wife is super excited to try it out!
