I went to my uncle's when he worked at Weirton Steel in WV and got a behind the scenes tour. I can still remember the heat. We were up on a catwalk at one point and could feel the heat while a huge bar bounced off a roller up into a machine stopping everything. Those poor bastards whose job it was to fix it...whew! Of course, it was pointed out that's why they get paid the big money.I always thought it would be good to take the family to the mill and let them see a furnace being tapped, or any hot strip or pickle line... Yes, this is where I go every day honey.
This was 26 years ago...and it is WV.dont they have cooling suits?
dont they have cooling suits?
Cooling suits?? I'll take one. Gets super humid here in the hot strip. Even days where the temp isn't bad the humidity can kill ya. Living the dream!
Yep I know that feeling. Most days it sucks. But of course you know since you work in the same mill ha-ha
What's a cooling suit?
Lol they made mention of it in last months heat stress safety video, but blew by it real fast, probably cause they aren't free. Love working for a billion dollar company.
Here I assume it would be standard.OK, is it bad that when I saw the Asian girl, I assumed that was some weird sex toy?
