    Quick math: If you normally donate $50/year to the charity of your choice, and decided to stop in lieu of the smile program, you would have to spend [STRIKE]FIVE[/STRIKE] TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS at Amazon for your charity to see your normal $50.

    So go ahead, sign up for smile, but dont forget to continue to contribute to them as you used to. Smile is a great bonus, but no substitute for regular cash donations.

    Thanks. I suxxors at the maths. The original number I saw was 1%. Then I saw an updated figure that put it at half that but forgot to adjust my numbers.

    True, it's an addendum and .5% for the small particant in the nation (300,000 = x $35 (minimum for free shpping) x .005) still helps. And at no cost to the buyer.

    That article is partially right but it discounted the benefits of purchases as a whole.
