One of these completely supports the claim with a source, and article about the claim, and even further information.

If there is an article out there saying that the BATFE is going to hear this, I'd love to read it. If a wiser man wants to teach me something, I'll stop and learn it. I hope Samot proves right this is happening. It's a giant leap, but based on information I don't see anything supporting it other than a few dated emails which is disappointing when it's something as big as this. If in 90-270 days mkes it through all the leaps and hurdles it has to, and becomes the way of the future, I'll buy the guy beer.

The NFA branch was as I thought. Nope nothing happening with anything at the time being, business as usual. Although if some thing did, we would be notified by a press release that could be found at atf.gov under the publications.

I posted my question on the NFATCA's facebook and it was removed after about 5 mins and have not received an email response yet, when I do and if I am wrong I'll be the first to admit it.

I have no dog in this fight. But it would be nice if this came to be. For many of us, getting the CLEO signoff is not much of a problem. Sometimes the forms have to be left at the Law Enforcement Center, then picked up a few days later. Our Sheriff is a busy man (and a "gun guy" too).

Seems pointless to me. I still have to go to the cop shop to get fingerprinted. 99% of the time the CLEO is the one doing the fingerprinting. This saves all of 2 seconds. Now if they wanted to drop the fingerprint requirement all together that would be amazing!

You need prints for many order of things but in an environment where the cleo doesn't like guns it may take a long difficult journey in order to get the sign off on class III. this takes a possible personal vendetta out of the process.
