    Here comes the BOOM!

That is an EPIC picture! It captures the seriousness of shooting the serbu and the silly grin of holding a KEG. :rockwoot:

***Sorry guys, you'll have to click on the video links. I promise it's worth a mouse click...

I have no idea where to even begin... We had such a great time shooting, eating, and getting to know each other. Applied Ballistics, AGS, and SSNFA brought us a whole bunch of goodies, as did I believe Big Craig and VUPDBlue. (I'm sure I'm probably forgetting someone. Sorry if I did!) I couldn't wipe the smile off of my face the entire time.

We basically had three shooting sessions:
    1) Suppressed
    2) AOW/DD
    3)Sub/Machine guns

Unfortunately, I didn't really get many pictures or videos of the suppressed firearms. I didn't figure they would really translate well on video. They supplied handguns and rifles from .22LR on up. I'm a sucker for the pistols. Particularly the 1911 and M&P45, as well as the MKII 22/45. The .22 rifles were unbelievably quiet, particularly the Ruger bolt gun. You could just hear, "click... thwack" of the trigger then the round hitting the dirt.

    Doing some explaining

    The Range set-up
    IMG_0082.jpg

Moving onto the AOW/DD, we shot some shorty "shotguns." Not technically shotguns, but it's pretty well a shotgun receiver with a very short barrel and only a pistol grip. We were also able to shoot a rotating drum hi-cap (12? 14?) shotgun although I don't have a video from it.

    Shooting the AOW

Now onto the video heavy portion... Sub/Machine Guns! Too many fun guns to fire. We sure sent some brass flying. My videos are a little selfish since they're pretty well all of me, but hey whaddaya expect?! :ar15:

PPSh- This gun is INSANELY FAST!!! This is a 35 round dump. Notice how I'm done shooting and the brass starts raining down. Stan said that the gun is through the mag before the brass has time to hit the ground. So cool!

Last, but certainly not least, the big kahuna M1919 belt-fed .308. I ran 60 rounds through it in this belt. We did some serious log cutting with it during the day.

This is how we "linked" our .308 ammo. Teamwork!

I can't get the videos to embed??? Sorry. I hope you can see them.

    well

Since it's an after action report, I'll report.

Fun was had. My personal favorites of the day were getting to use an Osprey on my 1911 and getting to shoot the Sten and it working. That thing was awesome. MP5 definitely fun and well designed, I tried to contain myself when I shot it, I failed.

That said, I really enjoyed learning some of the little nuances and getting my questions answered first hand from people that have the working knowledge of NFA regulations.

Even through all that, I think the best thing was the people. Everyone was just awesome. It was nice to get to put names to faces I've seen around at various places and to get to meet new people. Seemed like about 40 people standing around shooting SBR's, AOW's, Machine Guns, and various suppressed weapons and I think that Redneck Medic could have taken a nap....someone did. Oh and the food was really good too.... the Honey Cornbread.....nom nom nom.

NFA day was an awesome experience. The people, the guns, the hospitality from lovemywoods and his family were all amazing. Thanks a million to everyone involved. Thanks toredneckmedic for being on standby all day, Matt is an awesome guy. Thanks to esrice, vupdblue, shooter521, curaheeguns, bigcraig, and all the other organizers/presenters for all of the useful knowledge and fun experience.

Also, as a warning for future NFA day goers, the M1919 does not like soft-tip ammo. The gun gets hot and the tips start dragging, and they won't feed.

I am really not even sure where to begin. Yesterday was just amazing. I don't think I've seen nicer land to shoot on, they have one heck of a setup down there. The hospitality from the Rice family was awesome and i cant thank them enough for hosting this event! Thanks to the vendors for bringing out all your toys for us to play with :D The Thompson was hands down my favorite. I ate way too much food, it was all so delicious that I couldn't stop going back for more!

I had a great time with some great people.
Thanks to esrice and lovemywoods for opening up your home to a bunch of weirdos from the Internet. And thanks tho the vendors for letting us play with the cool toys.

One thing I learned yesterday is, screw suppressors, I'm saving for a machine gun.

Oh and the diabetic coma is the tastiest of all comas.

My thanks to all the folks that put this event together. It was great actually putting faces and names with the avatars. Everybody was fun to be around and the hospitality of the Rice's was amazing and greatly appreciated. Anybody reading this thread that didn't sign up this year---you're missing out! Sign up! My only regret: I wish I'd taken more pictures.

My favorite was the Thompson. I always thought I'd like to have one, now it's a "definitely" Maybe, someday...*sigh*...a guy has to have a dream:D

What a class event, everybody. Thanks for good time and the memories.

First of all I want to thank LMW along with his wife, his son ESRice and daughter KR_Treefrog for graciously extending there home & property along with the awesome prepared food for us to have a wonderful gathering for us NFA Noob's.

Secondly I want to thank the organizer's of the event for putting on one heck of a show, I still had a smile on my face when I fell asleep in my recliner about 30 minutes after getting home.

To everyone, it was great see our INGO fellow members, both ones I have known for a while, and members who I met for the first time. I hope that we can meet again!

I'll get Pic's and video posted later, chores around the house come first.:D
