If you are looking for US made the Ruger Red Lable is a great choice. If you like pumps you can't beat Remington 870s. I own two, one 12 ga, one 20. Never have had a problem with either one. As far as autos the Rem 1100 is a good gun, but the 11/87 is even better. My 1100 20ga is a bit finicky when it comes to ammo. My 11/87 12ga feeds anything I load it with. From light field loads to heavy 3 inch loads, it doesn't miss a beat. Nothing to adjust just load it up and shoot. The premier grades make nice show pieces.
