I think the number of people with a LTCH is well over a million now... it was over 500,000 back in '08 timeframe and the number of applications has BOOMED since then. IIRC, 900,000 new applications in 4th quarter of 2012 alone.

I think it was about 350,000 when the database was sealed two years ago. Indiana only has 6.5 million residents.

Cut out the part on the bottom and it will do. I like the sign. We still are the United States of America. So no need in putting down other states even if they keep electing idiots to run things. Just saying.

you think fewer than one in 6 has a LTCH? I wouldn't be surprised, but I wouldn't be surprised the other way either.

According to the Indy Star, around 300,000 in 2004. So, yes, I think fewer than 1 in 6. That number may have changed dramatically since the 2008 election, but when the database was sealed in 2010 it was estimated to be about 350,000. I would guess it's closer to around 400,000 now with more people choosing the non-expiring Lifetime LTCH and the panic over threats to the 2nd Amendment over the last two years. I certainly don't believe that the ISP received 900,000 applications in Q4 2012.

It was a recent thread here... you're going to make me search aren't you?

ETA, as it turns out I was a bit off. It was supposedly 1st quarter of this year, and the number is 449,000 applications. Maybe I was confused on the number and the 900,000 figure came from an estimation?? Idk, I have a pretty bad head-cold and I'm not thinking clearly.

    The thread is here: https://www.indianagunowners.com/forums/carry_issues_and_self_defense/274937-12_000_females.html
And the stats are here: http://ftpcontent.worldnow.com/wthr/PDF/2013quarterlygunstats.pdf

The sign isn't putting down the state of Illinois or Chicago, it's just stating the facts. Of course, my guess is that a lot of the criminals coming into Indiana are already aware that Chicago is "anti-gun but gang-friendly" since most of them probably originate from Chi-town.

Search complete, updated my last post with the info. I was a bit off on my info but the number is still astounding. The number of applications in Q1 of 2013 according to the source is still more than the estimated number of total licensees you gave. I would bet that we're a lot closer to 1,000,000 than you think we are (if we're not over it already).

Need to put up these signs on the indiana side of every road leading from Illinois. Wonder how many FOID cards Illinois has issued and if the numbers are close?
