Some people don’t use rails or optics so I get it and no big deal. That said, I’m just wondering why they don’t just bring back the 3900,5900,4000,1000 and 4500 series under the “Classic” line. There would be a market and a lot of us that cut their teeth on metal framed hammer fired DA/DA guns.
Because the talent that S&W had to make all those marvelous guns doesn't work there any more, they've moved on.

I think the CSX is good additional option but I personally won't carry a SAO. I don't like external safeties on a carry gun. I would buy/carry a shield plus before I would the CSX. I still ankle carry my gen1 shield quite often

Another review that's a little more critical of it (TL;DWatch: Wait for gen. II?)

I watched this one. I like his videos. I have the same issue with my Shield + though with loading mags to max capacity and seating them on a closed slide. I can do, but I really have to ram it home.

And the Uplula has to have some pressure behind it to load that last round into the mag. I swear the magazine springs are being completely collapsed by the time that last round is loaded.

I'm still working the Plus and I'm sure it will get better but as of now I still favor my Shield 2.0.

A user on the S&W forum has taken the CSX apart. Thread with pics:

There are a couple of other thread on the S&W forum about the CSX.

    S&W CSX Product Page:

Price appears to be running from $550-$600.

The S&W forum I linked to earlier has a couple of real world shooting reports.

A friend of mine picked up a used CSX 2-3 weeks ago.
I was surprised since I thought they had just recently released them.

CSX got my attention since I like a hammer for whatever reason. :dunno:
I have enjoyed Shields & found myself gravitating back to them with forays into other choices from time to time.
Last August I picked up a Shield Plus Performance Center & determined to stick with it. :nono:

I did a size comparison on handgunhero.com between the CSX & Shield Plus PC. :coffee:
They are the exact same size except the trigger guard & slide are a bit deeper/larger on the Shield Plus PC.
I'm so old-fashioned, I carry a revolver most of the time anyway. :oldwise:

Range time pic with both Shield Plus & Plus PC & the Rami.

Targets with the Shield Plus & Plus PC & CZ Rami.
With my eyes & hands, they all shoot nearly the same. :fogey:

I handled a CSX yesterday and just say I was impressed!!! If only they made them in 40 or 45 I’d definitely have one. Reminiscent of the old Chiefs Special from the turn of the century ;)
