some tips for those thinking of dying your stuff:

I've done this same thing with RC car parts and some AK parts to make Russian Plum. You'll want a LARGE soup kitchen style pan to simmer your stuff in. Take a bunch of coat hangers and cut them into hooks. Thread one end of the coat hanger into a piece you're going to dye and bend then end so it'll keep the piece submerged while hooking onto the side of the pan. You'll want to dye everything at the same time otherwise you'll end up with darker pieces.

Here is what i started with:

I wanted Russian Plum ((10)) mags but you can't buy them anywhere and I want the Palm grip not the popsicle stick.

So i purchased USPalm's bakelite brown grip and magazine as shown here

I purchased some Rite "wine" dye.

Followed the above instructions and kept checking to see if the color was what i wanted. You'll need to pull out all items when you do this so some don't get darker as you check. You'll want to rinse them in cold water to get all the dye off as you check. If they're not dark enough, dip them all back in. This is what i ended up with, sorry about the crappy picture. You can't tell but it's about a 100% match of russian plum.

If you screw up, just dye them black.

Here are some other fun ways to dye your stuff.

I have a FDE vtac S&W 40. Everytime I go shooting with my brother and his friends, I always get great comments about it. I REALLY like that darker color you did. It looks very clean and unique.
