Yes, mods, this thread is about firearms. Be patient.

I broke the E string on my guitar last night and I need to play at the Christmas dinner tomorrow.
So I went to the local pawn shop because they have strings misc. guitar stuff to go with the pawned guitars.
I found a set of D'Addario strings medium gauge for $9.
Good strings. Good price. So I am thinking this is a good day.
You can't go into a pawn shop without checking out the guns so I am looking around and there it is:
A Browning Gold Hunter, 26" barrel, black synthetic stock. Price tag $500.
I have a 28" barrel Gold Hunter and have been looking for a 26" barrel for it for a couple of years with no success.
The barrels alone are $450 plus shipping. YOW!
I was looked the gun over and looked like it had NEVER been cleaned but with a little work it could be good as new.
Then the guy behind the counter said he would take $400 for it.
WOW! I am not only getting a barrel, but a whole shotgun!
For less money than a barrel.
I didn't have $400 on me so I gave him $100 and put it in layaway.
And he gave me the strings for free!
    Just had to share.
What a country we live in.

Love the gun but what kind of guitar I am hooked on both ,no money but I do have fun
The guitar I was getting the strings for was an old 70's Epi A-10.
Epi was Epiphones student model guitar. I think it cost like $130.00.
It was the first guitar I bought for myself.
I have a Takamine that I play in church but the Epi is my go anywhere guitar.

Congrats on the good fortune! Guitar players do live a charmed life ;) I'm an Elixer guy, but played D'Addario for years. Good strings.

Bought a beater a few years back - Ovation - during that short window when they were making good sounding guitars - it's one of my favorites now, similar to this one:

    What is with the Elixers?
No one around Bedford has them.
Of course, Bedford is usually out of everything anyway.

BTW I went back today for a capo, but it didn't work.

I'm a bass player. We never get lucky...

I'll tell you what though, between music equipment and guns, there is no money left for anything else. Two most expensive hobbies I can think of besides cars.
