I'm all for an OC event, but I fail to see the purpose, LOS will still have rules about guns after this passes and there will still be some that carry anyway, if I ever go back I might just break their rules

Wanna mess with their heads a bit? Have a pro-Colts OC rally in front of the stadium (on a public sidewalk). Make the Colts organization speak out against their own fans. Preferably with some media coverage. I can hear the news bite now - "Colts owner spends millions on star quarterback, then snubs own fans. Will ticket sales plummet? Story at 11."

Wear your Colts jerseys with your favorite handgun strapped on.

Yeah, a bunch of us will have to borrow a jersey.....

Yeah, as if the outrageous ticket / food / beverage / paraphenalia prices weren't enough !

I can't see how so many people can even afford to go to games anymore.

There are some great points in this post.
    * Do we want beligerant drunks with weapons? Obviously NO!
    * Do we want to have to lock up our weapons in our cars/trucks and run a
potential gauntlet to and from the game to our vehicles?
    ---Obviously NO!
    * Is LOS a public or private venue??? Not sure. Certainly there were / are
tax dollars at work in the building, so does that mean I can carry?

Question: Does anyone know how many crimes have occurred post-game in the immediate areas around the dome and LOS? That would give an indication of how much need there is to CC in the game.

Personally, I wouldn't want to CC in LOS. Those seats are uncomfortable enough on a good day, much less with me haulin' a full-frame 1911 around.
    OUCH!

Jediagh, no one can outdo the public criminals in NWI! they make Vegas bookies look like Girl Scouts!

I would have pics of me burning my Colts gear, but the stupid camera decided to poop out. :(

SJ Kahr, I think I understand what you are saying. If the bill is passed, despite being "public" land, the individual event holders could state yes/no on firearms carry. Realistically, the disgusting thing isn't that we aren't allowed to carry, it's that Irsay is holding our rights hostage to save him a few bucks on security and similar. It's disgusting that folks are still willing to not only support a criminal and mook like Irsay, but also his raping of our tax coffers and the rape of our rights continued via his "ownership" of LOS.

If I hear one more person say they wouldn't carry in LOS anyways, I am going to throw up. Do folks honestly believe they will choose the time and place of an attack? Are folks that foolish to think that the criminals will wait until you get back to your car when you would be able to defend yourself? The point of carry is preparedness, not foolishness. If you don't prepare, then how will you defend yourself? Harsh words and sticks?

I think all the 2nd amendment Loving Colts fans are under the impression that the first amendment is "Thou Shall Love the Colts". And that being the first amendment, it's obviously more important than the 2nd.

I realize one has to go into the downtown area to attend a Colts game, but as far as taking my weapon into the stadium itself - I don't see it as a critical need.

    Where's the bacon?
I realize one has to go into the downtown area to attend a Colts game, but as far as taking my weapon into the stadium itself - I don't see it as a critical need.

    Fair comment. Consider, however:

"...but as far as taking my weapon into the grocery store itself -..."
"...but as far as taking my weapon into the church itself -..."
"...but as far as taking my weapon into the bar itself -..."
"...but as far as taking my weapon into the bank itself -..."
"...but as far as taking my weapon into the courthouse itself -..."
"...but as far as taking my weapon in the car with me -..."
"...but as far as taking my weapon into the park itself -..."

In all of these and many other places, people have been assaulted, raped, kidnapped, and/or killed. In addition, all of these crimes have been committed against people on the way to or from those places and others. Sometimes, the crimes are completed. Other times, they are foiled, but in the latter, it only happens when someone is ready, willing, and able to stand in his/her own defense or is lucky enough to have someone else do it for him/her. The well-publicized quote is, "Luck is not a strategy.", in other words, you cannot depend on it working in your favor.

You're welcome to your opinion, of course. I ask that you reconsider it in light of the above.

    Thanks, and :welcome: to :ingo:!

    Blessings,
    Bill

its the walk to and from the car you have to worry about, not so much inside the building. food for thought

Any of you guys go to the 1500? Any boycotts out front? I must have missed them.... damn.

I think your sarcasm meter is busted. Everything I've posted in this thread is pure sarcasm. Being a conservative leaning board, many here get worked up over gun bans, they're more than willing to look the other way when it's an organization they like. They love the Colts more than their guns. Socialism is great when you're one of the beneficiaries.

How about flooding gun-friendly businesses with customers to send a positive message, instead of sending a negative message by inflicting harm on those that are anti-gun?
