    Specifically for a MKll:

Ruger MKll512. 5.5 inch bull barrel. Adjustable rear sight. Fixed front sight. Its the best.

I know you didn't list it, but you might take a look at the Sig 226 or 229 classic in .22. You can get them threaded. Not in the same price ballpark as the others, but you can get a centerfire kit for it later and shoot 9, .40, or .357 sig.

I picked up the SR22, felt the best in my hand.
And found a smith to thread the barrel.
Going to do it like a P22 where it will require a thread adapter.
And have him make a thread protector for when not in use.

I have not shot it yet, but it feels soooooooo much better than the P22.
The fat hand grip feels really good.

22/45 cant be beat for a weekend plinker. Mine has been great. I understand you dont like the grip but 22 rugers are great guns and built like a tank.

Since I haven't had the chance to actually see or hold one, what is the SR22 slide made out of?:dunno:

I agree. I just picked one up a couple weeks ago and it is a great gun. I think I like the weight of the mk ii a little better but both are great guns.

I didn't like the sr22. It felt like more of a tactical training weapon and not as precise as my 22/45.

    Slide is aluminum
And by what I understand, it's got a lifetime warranty?

And I really do like the MK i, ii, iii grip, but not the 22/45.
I'd spend way too much if I had a MKii or iii.

I like my M&P 22. Eats just about everything and not picky like the Sig Sauer Mosquito and the Walther P-22.

I ordered two additional magazines from S&W today for 83 bucks with tax and priority shipping. Ain't cheap, but alot of fun.

What are you guys doing wrong with the P22?:D Mine has fed and ejected everything I've run thru it since the day I took it out of the box.:dunno: It will NOT tolerate being limp wristed though. I found that out when my wife shot it, and had never shot a firearm before.

    22/45 -don't like the feel of the grip + It's a Ruger

Not sure why you don't like the 22/45. Picked up a Target model with wood grips from Plainfield Shooting Supplies at the last INDY 1500. Total price $300.00 and a little change. And I have to really make myself leave the range I love shooting this gun so much. I mean it has a great trigger (remember its a target model) shoots any ammunition I feed it, and with the NC Star Holo sight its almost boringly accurate. Plus it has the same fit and feel of a 1911 what more could you ask for in a .22 plinker? Well Is it really a plinker as accurate as it is?

I'm also having trouble finding extra magazines for the SW M&P 22LR, Colt 1911-22LR and Browning 1911-22LR. No one has any. I assume they'll eventually show up.

Don't get me wrong I liked the M&P22 as much if not more than the SR22, but talking to my wifes uncle who works at a local shop. Mags were super hard to find.
And the little searching I did I could not find any.
Don't mean I won't buy the M&P also. The 12rd mag gives a big finger to CA
