I second the Kahr X9; waiting on that one myself. I did see one review that stated it was not up to Kahr's standards, with regard to the trigger. My primary carry is the CM9. Light, concealable in a pocket, reliable. All my carry guns are DAO.

If you're looking at a G19, maybe cross-shop the Walther PDP compact as well. I own both and prefer the Walther for it's more natural grip angle and better overall ergonomics. The Glock has a lower bore axis and yet the recoil doesn't seem any softer than the Walther, but maybe that's just me.
I absolutely love mine. Sold my G19 after shooting the PDP for a bit. Personally for me, it’s way more accurate too, more the shooter than the gun, but Walther makes it easy for you.

The hellcat grip is small and i think trigger is not all that ,just don’t shot it well . The Walter pdp is one to look at ,always did like the grip on a Walter . Shot a friends dagger something about trigger . I like to get a gun and shot it all factory changing things can cause problems.

Some additional context to my previous post: I own the F series, not the regular PDP. I had a couple of those and my abnormally small hands gripped fine enough, but not as good as on the F series.

I’m the odd ball. Other than always having POM Pepper spray on me, I like the M&P series especially a 4” M&P 45 2.0 with 10 round mag (I call it my polymer commander but 10 round) I carry more times than not and a Sig 226 Legion sometimes.

And for an oddball part I also run 3 and 4 inch K frame DAO’s in my retired life

That said a Glock 19 or any is a solid choice

The PDP has a fantastic trigger. If you want to buy something and not add anything (other than a red dot) the PDP is a good way to go. I can't even say that about the P10 series, as while the stock trigger is fantastic, it irritates my finger after 100 rounds or so and I always end up changing out the trigger shoe for the CGW aluminum trigger shoe or HBI trigger shoe. Changing a trigger shoe (and not springs) is generally fine. Add springs in the mix and you can easily cause issues.

Nothing oddball about the M&P series, they are a solid choice.

The other thing about my M&P 45 compact is like my revolvers and doing the LEOSA thing they are legal in all 50 states! I’m sure others would be ok but I’m not going to be a test case.

One thing I learned it’s never a good thing to have a bridge, street or Supreme Court case named after you!!!

A large part of me suspects the shield optic is the issue, not the hellcat. I like my hellcat, though now that the Pro exists id choose that if I did it again.

365 XL or Macro is a good choice in the same class
G43x or Shadow System CR920x are good glock/glock like options IMO
