My fiancee and I are taking our honeymoon in Vegas. We are only going for three days. Nothing too expensive but it will be a nice getaway.

If you are still looking, be sure to use my links to sites that can keep you updated on deals. Especially the email/subscription/searches. I've been to Vegas, but not for pleasure.

We went to Vegas...everyone should go. But not like when we went. It was 115 degrees in the daytime. It did cool off to a comfortable 95 at night. Fat guys and heat do NOT get along. :): But it is a beautiful city at night. :yesway: Somewhere I have pics of the winos laying behind the dumpsters at multi-million dollar casinos. :D Seriously...we went to the end of the strip and I was taking pics of one of the casinos at night. And I was standing by a big shrub...and it started rustling around...and this old drunk popped out right by my feet. Scared the hell out of me.

And they have a much better crop of hookers than Indy does. :):

Nope. Cheaper than most places I've gone. We had our flight and hotel in one price. $629 per person for like 5 nights. $500 back then (as now) was exceptional for round trip from Indy. Usually higher. So, that leaves $129 per person for 5 nights. Pretty cheap. It was in 20-30 story hotel about 2 or 3 blocks off of Waikiki beach. Included taxi to/from airport.

Meals we ate were local 'plate specials'. They included TWO MEATS and two sides $6. Plenty of McDonald's to go around, too for regular prices. I remember a whole lobster dinner for $15.

Deals are pretty good right now, too. But, I have not really tried to squeeze the lemon and see how much of a great deal I can find because I am not going anytime soon. But I was unsure what high prices people report.

Now, they DO have two-tier pricing. The pricing above is for tourists. The locals know one another and charge each other less. shrug. Didn't bother me.
One thing about Hawaiians-they love SPAM! They even have it at McD's. The only thing I noticed that was significantly higher there was gasoline.

Well, I can understand wanting to stay in the US, but let me give a plug for Sandals.

My wife and I went to Sandals Montego Bay for our honeymoon and loved it. We've been back twice since, once for a good friends wedding, and once during one of those -30 winters we have. Each time we went back that upgraded our room for free, a suite the 2nd trip, and a cottage w/ fully stocked bar the second.

All inclusive for them means ALL INCLUSIVE. All food, drinks, and many of the activities. And they serve you drinks on the beach. We saved enough money that we were able to take a couple day trips on each vacation.

A recommended tip is to leave your rings in your room safe if you're going to go swimming. The groom lost his ring the day after they got married. Luckily Sandals staff found the ring the next morning.

Good luck with everything. I lucked out w/ our wedding. My wife planned just about everything. I just helped with some decision and planned the honeymoon.

what is there to do there for newly weds?

Dude........you really need help with that??????

All the wonderful ideas here are good I am sure. I share your "not outside the US" sentiment and I personally don't want to go on a cruise, ever. If that sounds like I am not adventurous, nothing could be further from the truth. I still have MANY places to take my wife that I have seen and she hasn't that I don't know if we will ever have enough money to do it all. I won't make a list because each of your personal likes and dislikes aren't listed, but there is an awful lot to see here in the US. I guess you did say she was thinking ocean, but that still leaves a lot of ground.

On a trip to see my brother in Maine I was doing some exploring in either the Green Mountains or White Mountains, I don't remember which, and she picked up the cell phone and said "you know we don't have any cell service here"......she is not the most adventurous.

Anyway BIG NOTE !!!!!! IF you are superstitious, I was married (this time, my third) on June 12th and it has lasted 15 years,a record for both of us. So hopefully there will be "a lital bit O' Irish Luck" in the date for you!!!

umm....first you play corn-hole on the beach, move to the patio for some margarita's, then head inside to play some contact sports.

    ...it's just that simple...

PS: make sure she's on pills and/or you have condoms or babies will start raining from the clouds.

Edit: just ask me how I know about the PS above
