Got word from BGF that my S&W Shield arrived today after a very long wait. I think we are going to do a review at LMWs when he has some time.

This will be my first venture to the dark side!

Looking forward to your review. I would appreciate the opinion of a Glock owner.

I want one but am not willing to put my money down without a confirmed date of delivery.

I keep thinking that someday supply will catch up with demand but apparently Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson are the only two employees and it takes them a week to forge each one in the fires of mount doom.

The last time we were shooting, if I had not loaded the mags myself, I would not have known that I was shooting 147gr +p hollow points. I had expected the thing to snap considerably more but felt no difference. I was pleasantly surprised...

Not really, my wife has had her full size M&P 9 for a good while now, I shoot it off and on with her but don't want to get rid of my Glock to get my own. I still prefer my Austrian plastic.

A shield is a piece of equipment used to defend oneself.

Likewise, a pistol like this one, is meant to be a carry pistol - used to defend oneself.

S&W Dagger.

I love mine... (the .40) It is the first NON Glock I have ever owned and I thought that I really wouldn't like it... But, alas, I am smitten.

I picked up my Shield 40 today also. Another coming in a week.

Shot 5 clips and really liked it. This is my first handgun I've ever shot.

I should say it's already delivered to my FFL. I'm just avoiding the multigun paperwork.
