I just finished my first build and was surprised at how cost effective you can build a decent rifle! I know guys that have big money in their rifles and if your using that weapon everyday in your job, I understand. But for most of us, (myself included) this is a rifle that will mostly be on the range with 100-200 rounds a trip. For my purposes, spending more than 500-600 bucks just didn't make sense.
Nice Build, good thread!
FWIW, back in December I got an AR rifle kit from Palmetto for $417 shipped. Found Buds selling and Anderson stripped lower for $53 and free shipping. Paid my dealer his $15 for the transfer. $485 done. I had some old sights to use and have since installed a Rock River Two stage trigger but it was a decent shooter on first build. Trigger only made it better.
Zero fitment issues and everything went together easily in just a couple hours. Well worth the $$ I spent on it.
