    its a repeater, holds 2 in the mag and 1 in the chamber... its a 458 BFG... which is a .458 socom with a longer throat to allow me to seat the bullet further out therefore getting in more powder for more velocity.

    Very nice. Would this require pretty much the same effort in say 454 casull, 357 max, or 445 supermag? I'd consider building one, but would like a slightly more common cartridge.

    How about a 45 Winchester Magnum?

    It'll actually feed out of a Savage since it hasn't got that pesky rim to deal with.

    I've got a 17" stainless McGowen in stock for a small shank Savage.

    Several hundred pieces of brass and dies if you need them (most 45 ACP dies will work).
