Other than a 25-cent trigger job...

What are some things that Glock-o-philes recommend as must-have upgrades / modifications for a Glock pistol?

    More specifically a G-17?

Nothing. They need nothing. Right out of the box they are like Mary Poppinski. "Practically perfect in every way."

    Must Have
Night sights, and plenty of mags.

    Nice to Have
In addition to night sights, all my Glocks get the following treatment:
    • polishing of internal contact surfaces, to include the trigger bar (back end where it meets the connector, and vertical extension where it meets the firing pin safety), the connector "hand" where it meets the trigger bar, the face of the firing pin safety, and the firing pin lug
    • factory extended slide stop
    • factory extended mag catch, dehorned
    • frame plug
    • smooth trigger face (on compacts and subcompacts)

i like the "trigger saftey" NOT the factory one but that little bar thats aftermarket. (idk the name of it) but i like it

ALSO night sights and MAYBE the clip that mounts on the slide so you can clip it to your belt, i usually see them on the lcp and kel-tecs but my friend has one for his G22 and its kinda cool

No way dude. Talk about a good way to get yourself accidentally shot.

I would suggest night sights as the #1 upgrade from a bone stock Glock.

I added the grip plug to my Glock 26 also.

I don't have a problem with the standard slide release, but if you had large hands you might benefit from it.

    "Clipdraw" or "Kwik-Klip".

All of the above products are, IMO, bad juju and should be avoided. They rank right up there with other junk like the Saf-T-Block, the slide coverplate lock that uses a handcuff key, and the magazine baseplate/flashlight holder on the "stupid Glock product ideas" list.

Its been said before, but night-sights. I also swapped the plastic guide-rod out for a stainless steel one. Added a little weight which is a good or bad thing depending on personal preferences.

Thread Jack! So who has the best prices at the 1500 to do these? Night sights and extended slide release and maybe the trigger? Can they do those while your there waiting? Thanks
